There will be plenty of Easter weekend fun this weekend, but for everything else, celebrations and healthy living are a point of focus of next week’s events.
For those who are diabetic, Citizens Medical Center will be hosting their monthly information and discussion support group Sweet Talkers at noon Tuesday. The Jackson County Hospital District will also be hosting its annual health and safety expo 10 am-2 pm Wednesday.
As for celebrations, Victoria Preservation Inc. kicks off its historical homes season with its annual fundraiser Thursday evening, and Andustoria Wines will be celebrating its one-year anniversary Friday through April 6.

The Dinner Tonight program aims to provide healthy recipes for Texans and increase self-efficacy in meal planning, healthy cooking techniques and food safety. Join them for a cooking demonstration and sample delicious and easy meals that you can add to your menu at home.
VAMA Rock and Blues Open Mic Jam Night — 6-9 p.m., Aero Crafters, 309 E. Crestwood Drive, Victoria. Victoria Area Music Association hosts their open mic night at Aero Crafters.
Sweet Talkers — Noon-1 p.m., Citizens Medical Center, 2701 Hospital Drive, Victoria. Join Citizens on the first Tuesday of each month for Sweet Talkers, a diabetes information and discussion session. Timeline: 200 Years: Celebrating Victoria’s Bicentennial — Noon-5 pm Wednesdays to Sundays, through June 9, Five Points Museum of Contemporary Art, 1201 N. Moody St., Victoria. The exhibition examines the last 200 years from our connections to the land and nature, to the personal experience of families and ancestors.
